Isle of Wight Tour From London
Isle of Wight Tour
The Isle of Wight Tour, join us to explore the beautiful Isle of Wight on a day trip from London by coach, with entry to Osborne House included.
First, we will board a ferry in Southampton. From there, you will cross the Solent—the strait of the English Channel that separates England’s south coast from the Isle of Wight.
Upon arriving on the Isle of Wight, we will first visit the magnificent Osborne House. This gorgeous summer residence was designed by Prince Albert himself for Queen Victoria and their family, and your entry is included.
Osborne House
Queen Victoria and Prince Albert built Osborne House, a historic royal residence on the Isle of Wight, between 1845 and 1851. Prince Albert designed the Italian Renaissance palazzo to serve as their private summer home and rural retreat. Here, the royal family escaped the pressures of court life, consequently raising their nine children in a more natural environment.
Today, English Heritage manages the house. Therefore, you can explore the opulent State Rooms, walk through the beautifully maintained gardens, and visit the charming Swiss Cottage. Ultimately, the home offers a unique glimpse into the private life of Queen Victoria and her family.
Following our visit to this historic royal home, we will then head to Shanklin and/or Sandown. Here, you can enjoy some time on the beautiful beaches.
We conclude the tour with a visit to the charming village of Godshill. Here, you can explore traditional thatched-roof cottages and some of the island’s oldest architecture. In addition, you might want to see the miniature model village or purchase some local cider to take home. Following our final stop, we will take a scenic drive back to the ferry terminal, where we begin our journey back to Southampton and, finally, London.
