Australia: North Queensland Adventure Tour 9 Days
Prepare to discover Queensland’s wonders. From Whitehaven Beach’s immaculate beaches, this portion of Australia is incredibly relaxing. That’s before visiting Magnetic Island, experiencing amazing coastal treks, and seeing Rock Wallabies at nightfall, then closing with a Great Barrier Reef adventure.
We should start our adventure in this tropical paradise. Our voyage begins at Nomads, where we’ll meet our fellow adventurers. Is anywhere more gorgeous than the Whitsundays? We doubt it. You’ll spend a day at Whitehaven Beach, including snorkeling, exploring one of the world’s most popular tourist spots with 74 beautiful islands and an open sea. The closest thing to heaven on Earth is this. You may skydive over Australia’s most stunning drop zone or fly over Whitehaven Beach and Heart Reef in the Whitsundays. Sip something sweet on the beach or browse the seafront’s quaint boutiques, bistros, and outdoor cafés for a more laid-back choice. Life is hard.
Is anything better than Whitsundays? We think our next destination is close! We’ll take a coach to Townsville and get the ferry to our next location. This intriguing island, Magnetic Island (Yunbenun), has coastal walking trails and gum trees full of lazy koala bears. Explore, swim in the turquoise seas, or meet native marsupials—we’ll have plenty of time. Lucky us, we have a day on this paradise island! Take a plunge in Horseshoe Bay’s clear waters and relax on the beach, or stroll the Forts stroll to see the Palm Island Group, WWII fortifications, and koalas in the wild.
On a ferry, we’ll leave Magnetic Island and say goodbye to our koala buddies. But we’ll never forget its unique beauty. We’re take a train from Townsville to Cairns following a beautiful trip down Australia’s East Coast. Here the rainforest meets the reefs, the city of Cairns (Gimuy). Our interactive Bush Food MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® tutorial and supper will be one of your favourite dinners ever. An skilled chef will describe the tastes, provenance, and traditional applications of native spices and fruits as we sample them before eating native game for supper. It’s an amazing cultural feast and the perfect way to start our Cairns vacation. A day excursion to Daintree, the world’s oldest tropical rainforest, is an MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® experience full of history, heritage, and natural beauty. This location will wow us with its ancient ferns and bright canopies. For good cause, David Attenborough termed it ‘the most remarkable site on earth.’ We’ll meet the Kuku Yalanji tribe and learn about their Aboriginal culture and history while appreciating the jungle. You can take a catamaran to the reef to snorkel or dive and see the colourful coral and abundant aquatic life. Back on board, the trained marine crew will explain this gorgeous but vulnerable natural miracle.
Our adventure comes to an end, but we can still experience Cairns’ famous bungy jumping, skydiving, and whitewater rafting. A picturesque Skyrail day trip is also available. Gliding above the canopy gives you a unique view of Australia’s World Heritage-listed tropical rainforest before descending to the forest floor to continue your guided tour in Kuranda, a tropical hippie paradise known for its sustainable living and alternative therapies. Enjoy a peaceful trip back to Cairns on the Kuranda Railway.
