Australia: City to Surf Trip 8 Days

How about exploring the East Coast’s brilliant lights and greatest beaches in under one week? This trip takes you from sunny Sydney to bohemian Byron Bay and the Noosa Everglades. Enjoy a sunset cruise in Sydney Harbour, relax at Bondi Beach, wake up to birds chirping at your Special Stay Everglades Eco Lodge, surf at Byron Bay, and sunbathe at Australia’s most easterly point.

We start at Sydney, and drive to Australia’s Blue Mountains, which aren’t actually blue but still beautiful. In the great Aussie Outdoors, we’ll explore Jamison Ridge and learn about the Three Sisters rock formation’s legends. Enjoy the city, once we return from our day of exploring.
Start exploring more of this sunny, cosmopolitan and always-cool city. As you explore the sights, your Trip Manager will tell you about the best parts. Visit the Opera House, take the ferry to Watsons Bay to see the skyline from a different angle, and relax on Bondi Beach. If you like heights, an optional Harbour Bridge climb is the greatest way to see the harbour. Water sports enthusiasts can take a Harbour jetboat across the harbour. If not Sydney’s land-based views are just as stunning.

We will then fly to Byron Bay to fulfil your hippie dreams. We will head straight to the beach, where an included surfing lesson will unleash our hidden abilities. Become a pro in no time! You can tour like a local here, go kayaking, go to the beach, or bike tour to observe glow worms in their native habitat, this will make your stay magical.

We will say goodbye to Byron Bay and head north to Noosa Everglades. Our Eco Camp is full of birds chirping and you might even see a kangaroo. We will spend the day in K’Gari, the sand dunes, lakes, and rainforests will boost your spirits. We’ll drive the world’s longest sand roadway too. Choose to eat at the local café, visit the CootharaBAR small brewery, or just relax in the lush protected National Park.

The last day at The Glades, is perfect for an optional Canoeing Excursion on one of only two Everglades in the world! Share social info with new made friends in Brisbane (Meeanjin) and plan future adventures.

  • Warrane/Sydney: Here’s why the itinerary uses dual names like Warrane/Sydney:

Contiki uses dual-naming to acknowledge and respect the Traditional and Torres Strait Islander owners of Australia’s land, sea, and waters. It’s a way of recognizing the Indigenous custodianship of this ancient culture and country as we explore it.

  • What a Modular Trip Means: Here’s what you need to know about a modular trip:

A modular trip means that your fellow travelers will change throughout the journey. People will join and leave at different points, so while there will be some goodbyes, you’ll also have plenty of opportunities to meet new, like-minded travelers along the way.
