17 Day Tour of Egypt - Christmas Road to Jordan
Day 1: Cairo
Welcome to Egypt and the start of your holiday! Arrive Cairo, included transfer to hotel. Overnight - Cairo
Day 2: Cairo - Aswan - breakfast
Today we visit the pyramids and sphinx at Giza and ancient Saqqara. Tonight, we travel to Aswan by overnight SLEEPER cabin train. Overnight - sleeper train
Days 3, 4 & 5: Aswan - Kom Ombo - breakfast
Today, a visit to the High Dam and the Temple of Philae. Later, free time. On day 4, optional morning air excursion to Abu Simbel. Later, board your felucca for a 2 night cruise including all meals; with a visit to the Temple of Kom Ombo. Overnight (2) - felucca
Days 6 & 7: Kom Ombo - Luxor - Dahab - breakfast
Disembarking on day 6, we drive to Luxor. Time to chill-out at our hotel before a visit to the Temple of Luxor. On day 7, an early start! There is the option to float over Luxor in a hot air balloon and see area wake up and come alive. Afterwards,we visit the Luxor’s West Bank and later, the Temple of Karnak. This afternoon we travel by overnight bus to Dahab via Hurghada. Overnight - bus
Days 8 - 11: Dahab - breakfast
Arrival and hotel check-in. Dive, snorkel, sun-worship, chill, shop - take your pick. Enjoy also an optional snorkel excursion to the Blue Hole or excursion to Mt Sinai and St Katherine’s Monastery if your feeling energetic. On day 12 we transfer accross the Gulf of aqaba by ferry arriving to Aqaba, Jordan's premier seaside town. Free afternoon and evening. Overnight - Dahab (4)
Day 12: Dahab - Aqaba - breakfast
Mid morning we transfer accross the Gulf of aqaba by ferry arriving to Aqaba, Jordan's premier seaside town. Free afternoon and evening. Overnight Aqaba (1)
Days 13 - 15: Aqaba - Petra - Wadi Rum - breakfast
An optional day trip to the Dead Sea is on offer today alternatively enjoy Aqaba town as you like. Later this afternoon we travel to Petra. On day 14, we enjoy a guided tour of Petra. On day 15, time for independent exploration and then to Wadi Rum, where we enjoy a desert 4 x 4 trek and camp-out with Bedouin dinner. Overnight (2) - Petra, (1) - Wadi Rum camp
Day 16: Wadi Rum - Cairo - breakfast
We return via Nuweiba and Dahab to Cairo, arriving late evening and check in to our hotel. Overnight - Cairo
Day 17: Cairo - breakfast
Free day or enjoy a guided visit to the Egyptian Museum. Hotel check out and included onward transfer to airport.
NOTE: Tuesday 18th December departure will travel to Jordan on day 10, coinciding with the ferry schedule and allowing a New Years Eve Party in Wadi Rum. Passengers will further depart Jordan on day 15 and travel to Cairo undertaking a tour of the Egyptian Museum. Day 15 and day 16 overnight Cairo. Tour ends day 17.
FINISH YOUR TOUR IN AMMAN
On Tuesday 18th December departure opt to further sightsee Jordan end your tour in Amman. Day 14 New Year's Eve party in Wadi Rum, Day 15 & 16 sightseeing of Mt Nebo, the Church of St George and the Muslim - Christian market town of Madaba. Overnight (2) Madaba. Day 17 - departure transfer to Amman international airport. The option is available at a small additional cost - ask your consultant for more information.
FINISH YOUR TOUR IN AMMAN
On Saturday 22nd December departure opt to further explore Jordan and end your tour in Amman. Day 15 overnight in Wadi Rum. Day 16, early morning drive to Amman with visits to Jerash and Umm Qais, the Roman city of the Decapolis. Overnight Amman. Day 17 - departure transfer to Amman international airport.
