8 Day Indulgence of Cuba, Havana to Havana

Begin an unforgettable Cuban adventure that blends music, culture, history, and natural beauty. Arrive in Havana and ease into the rhythm of the island with mojitos, live music, and a warm welcome alongside your fellow travellers. Stay in traditional casas particulares, offering an authentic window into Cuban daily life, and travel with an open mind as you embrace the country’s slower pace, ageing infrastructure, and undeniable charm.

Explore the cobbled streets of Old Havana on guided walks, learning the stories behind grand plazas, colonial cathedrals, and revolutionary heroes. Journey west through fertile countryside to the stunning Viñales Valley, framed by dramatic limestone mogotes and famous for tobacco and sugarcane. Visit a working tobacco farm, practise Spanish with your CEO, and enjoy free time to hike, relax, or escape to pristine island beaches.

Continue south to Playa Larga, stopping at the historic Bay of Pigs for a refreshing swim, before heading to the colourful colonial town of Trinidad. Here, balance free exploration with immersive experiences, from salsa dancing lessons to beach excursions and lively evenings with your group. Enjoy meaningful community visits, including a women-led textiles project in Manaca Iznaga supported by G Adventures and Planeterra.

Return to Havana via Santa Clara, home to the iconic Che Guevara memorial, reflecting on Cuba’s revolutionary past before ending where you began. This journey offers a rich introduction to Cuba’s landscapes, people, and resilient spirit, combining adventure, connection, and cultural insight into one rewarding experience overall.

It is important to note that Cuba tends to be quite different to other areas of the world you may have travelled in. Buildings and infrastructure are generally old and may not have been maintained to the highest standard. Elevators, internet and A/C often break down, things happen very slowly and water pressure and hot water can be minimal. Cuba is an amazing place to visit but to fully enjoy and relax, western expectations should be left at home and your sense of adventure should be your guide.
