Ultimate Inca Trail 6 Days

The one that’s all things Inca, from isolated indigenous communities to Machu Picchu and beyond. See the Andes and then some on this incredible Inca extravaganza. Complete the Lares Valley Trek, Inca Trail, and Machu Picchu in 6 breath taking days. Visit Latin America’s most remote settlements. Experience ancient cities, glacial lakes, waterfalls, and mountain views. Hot springs from ancient times. Lots of llamas.

First we welcome Cusco! You’ll meet other Inca Trail hikers before a morning city walking trip to become adjusted. Then discover Cusco your way. Artisan shops, colonial architecture, and superb local food will spoil you. Use this time to grab any last-minute goods before your excursion.  Then off to Lares Valley excursion after leaving Cusco early. Start the walk by hiking to Cancha Cancha, stopping for lunch by the river cooked by the trekking chef. Over 12,000 feet altitude, meet a remote, traditional society that’s survived for centuries. Winter 2019 brought electricity, but no roads. After we set our tents, you can meet a local family and learn about Andean village life.

A 7-hour walk will include glaciers, lakes, alpacas, steep valleys, and stunning mountain views. Watch for Caracara falcons and Andean geese! On our way down, we’ll stop in Q’oalay village and look for additional llamas after reaching the summit and taking pictures. The locals will welcome us into their homes and teach us Quechua, the Inca language.

Guess what? Best scenery is yet to come! We’ll visit Quiswarani community to see the seven waterfalls and Colquecruz mountains. Next, soak in the natural volcanic hot springs at Lares Hot Springs (3,100m/ 10,170 f) for an hour. Then we will go to Ollantaytambo, where we’ll have a delicious meal and relax in the hotel.

We will travel on the Inca express to the Inca trail. Epic scenery incoming. A lovely foot bridge across the Urubamba river leads to our first Inca site. Starting with the Sun Gate and a stunning Machu Picchu perspective. Don’t worry—we have time to appreciate this actual Wonder of the World. So take your time, enjoy it, and take many photos. To make things better, we’re visiting in the afternoon when the site is generally deserted. We’ll take a hassle-free tour of Machu Picchu’s main sights with our guide.

The Inca adventure concludes. Llama says… It’s been a life changing experience for us all, and we can’t wait to do it again.
