Day
One - Dublin-Galway
Dublin
City to Phoenix Park covering 1752 acres and surrounded
by a 7 mile long wall and a herd of 300 or so
deer. A visit to Lockes Distillery in Kilbeggan.
Yum, yum.

Our next stop is at Clonmacnoise Monastic settlement
on the banks of the river Shannon, founded by
St. Ciaran in the 6th Century - a great selection
of early Christian Churches, Celtic crosses and
burial slabs.Galway - a University City, famous
for the Arts/Culture, the Galway Races and the
Oyster festival.
Day
Two - Galway-Tralee
Travel to Tralee via Co.Clare taking in The Burren
- famous exposed limestone area. Also one of Europe's
richest botanical areas. Cliffs of Moher - Most
famous cliffs in Ireland six miles long and reaching
to 700ft at their highest point.
On to Lahinch - Beachtown very popular with Surfers.
Travel from County Clare to County Kerry by ferry
across the Shannon Ireland's biggest river. Tralee
-home of the International Festival - The Rose
of Tralee, held each August for one week.

Three - Tralee-Tralee

Dingle town: Lively colourful fishing village
& home to Fungie the famous dolphin hanging
out in Ireland
since 1984. Slea Head drive on the Dingle Peninsula
(most Westerly point in Ireland) - one of the
best drives in Ireland with various prehistoric
and early Christian remains and stunning scenery.
Scenery has been used in movies such as 'Far and
away' and 'Ryan's Daughter.
Gallarus Oratory, 10th Century Stone Church the
most complete of its kind in Ireland. Although
built of unmortared stone it's still waterproof
today.

Four - Tralee-West Cork
On our way to Killarney we visit Muckross Abbey
beside the Lakes of Killarney, spectacular scenery
with Ireland's highest mountains, Macgillycuddy's
Reeks and a visit to Torc Waterfall.On route to
Kenmare we pass some amazing scenery, driving
over Moll's Gap and Lady's View.
Lovely mountain drive over Caha mountains dividing
Kerry from Cork. Glengariff -'Rugged Glen', Warmed
by the Gulf Stream with subtropical plants/trees
Drombeg Stone Circle - More than two thousand
years old.We end up tonight in Clonakilty, West
Cork, near the former home of Michael Collins,
one of the most influential figures from the foundation
of our State.
Day
Five - Cork-Kilkenny
Cork's countryside is dotted with ancient castles,
the most famous- Blarney Castle - a 15th century
castle with the Blarney Stone which gives all
who kiss it the gift of the gab.

On route to Kilkenny we stop at the Rock of Cashel
and it's soaring 13th century Cathedral of Saint
Patrick dramatically overshadowing Cashel. Kilkenny
Town - was the seat of medieval Irish Parliments
and rival in importance to Dublin. Famous medieval
castle built in 1192 and many examples of architecture
from the middle ages.
Day
Six - Kilkenny-Dublin
Leave Kilkenny and travel to Dublin. Browneshill
Dolmen - The biggest Dolmen in Ireland which has
many mystical connections. On to County Wicklow
- Landscape of mountainous bog land, woods, vales,
lakes and mountain streams, little winding roads
used for many centuries by pilgrims travelling
to the monastic centre of Glendalough - 'Valley
of the Two Lakes' founded by St.Kevin 1400 years
ago.
Travel back to Dublin through the Wicklow Montains
