Northern Ireland with overnights in Belfast
and within the walled city of Derry.

Galway, Kylemore Abbey, Drumcliffe and much

Day
One - Dublin-Belfast
Dublin to Hill of Tara - Coronation site
of High Kings of Ireland until 5th Century.
Slane castle. Newgrange, megalithic tomb
built 3000 years B.C. Monasterboice-finest
examples of Celtic crosses in Ireland. Cross
border into Northern Ireland and head to
Belfast for the night.
Day
Two - Belfast-Derry
Morning black taxi tour option of Belfast
with opportunities to see the famous murals.
Travel along the Glens of Antrim - with
views of Scotland 13 miles away and then
up to the Giant's Causeway . Derry - staying
within the walls of this Maiden City. Walking
tour of Derry the next morning.
Day
Three - Derry-Sligo
In the morning an opportunity to visit The
Derry Museum which gives an amazing insight
into the history of the area. Return to
the Republic
entering into Co.Donegal. Just over the
border we visit Griannan An Ailleach a spectacular
stone fort overlooking Lough Swilly and
Lough Foyle.
On to Letterkenny heading South West through
Donegal town. & Enter Co.Sligo near
the Court Cairn Tomb of Creevykeel. Pass
through the burial place of W.B.Yeats in
Drumcliffe. Nearby is Mullaghmore the beach
from where Lord Mountbatten's boat set out
before it was destroyed with a bomb killing
its occupants. The Castle where his Family
spent their vacations, Classie Bawn can
be seen on the hillside from Creevykeel.
Day
Four - Sligo-Co.Mayo
First stop - the Burial Place of Queen Maeve
- (which involves climbing to the top of
Knocknarea Mountain). In the shadow of the
Mountain is Carrowmore Megalithic Burial
site, an area scattered with various stone
circles, dolmens and other stone age Burial
Tombs.
On to Ballina and out to DownPatrick Head,
a fine example of the powerful erosive effects
of the Atlantic or perhaps according to
legend the result of a fight between St.Patrick
and the devil.Through the backroads of Mayo
we arrive in Westport at the Head of Clew
Bay.
Day
Five - Co.Mayo-Galway

Climb Croagh Patrick - Holy mountain dedicated
to St Patrick. Famine trail alongside Doo
Lough where many locals died during the
Great Famine. On to Clifden and Connemara
- passing Kylemore Abbey.
Day
Six - Galway-Dublin
Short stop in Galway City. Straight to the
ancient monastic site of Clonmacnoise -
studded with churches monasteries and celtic
crosses beside the River Shannon. Arrive
Dublin around 4.00pm.
