Spring Bank Holiday - Amsterdam 2006

Amsterdam is always a great short break destination. Our special weekend tours to Amsterdam are typically one big, organised party. Staying in the heart of the city we have organised the tour with stacks to do for those who want to stick together. Yet being so central it is ideal if you want to do your own thing.

Tour Itinerary - Spring Bank Holiday Weekend

Bustling trams and busy nightlife: restaurants, clubs, the red light district - It's a red hot experience!

A city of characteristic canals and monuments, gabled houses, countless museums and galleries, wonderful food and drink and a friendly cosmopolitan atmosphere.

Day One
A morning departure from central London we connect with our cross channel ferry and then travel onward through France, Belgium and into Holland with comfort stops en route. Our arrival in Amsterdam in scheduled for 18:00 hours at one of a number of hotels we use in the city. Accommodation is provided on a bed and continental breakfast basis with all rooms having en suite facilities. After checking in to our hotel and an opportunity to freshen up we rejoin our coach for a short transfer to the Red Light District for a walking tour, refreshments and the optional evening show. In compact Amsterdam walking is the perfect way to soak up the atmosphere. On completion of the tour the evening is free to enjoy the fantastic night life in the many bars and cafes which form the centre of social life in the city.

Day Two
A morning tour of Amsterdam using our touring coach followed by an excursion to Volendam, an authentic Dutch fishing village to the north east. We also visit a cheese farm and clog makers for souvenir hunting. We return to Amsterdam at lunch time with the remainder of the day free to visit the museums and galleries or perhaps take a cruise on the canals with our tour manager.

Day Three
After breakfast we leave Amsterdam and travel on to Brugge in Belgium to visit the medieval splendour of one of the least spoilt cities in northern Europe.
Included is a walking tour of the city followed by free time to take lunch plus the chance to shop for world famous Belgian chocolates and lace before rejoining our coach and returning to England. We arrive back in central London at approximately 22:00 hours.
