Day Tour of Scotland & Ireland - Departing from

Day 1 - Edinburgh to Oban 
Discover the
real stories behind Wallace and Bruce at
the Wallace monument.
Into the Highlands through Rob Roy country.
Campbell stronghold of Kilchurn Castle built
in the 1440's.Lunch at the fishing town
of Inveraray on Loch Fyne. Ancient lands
of Kilmartin Glen's standing stones and
burial cairns dating back 3000bc. Finishing
at Oban gateway to the isles.
Day 2 - Oban to Pitlochry
Driving by
the Stuart seafort of Castle Stalker and
a wander in the magnificent Glen Coe. A
photo stop at the UK largest mountain Ben
Nevis. Hairy coo kissing. A wee wander through
the Caledonian Pine Forest and then a swim
in Loch Ness. A drive through Inverness
and onto the Highland boundary for dinner
at Pitlochry.
Day 3 - Pitlochry
to Edinburgh
First a taste
of the whisky and then onto explore a giant's
forest for some coffee. A climb up to the
top of an 11 century round tower (only two
left in Scotland). Last part of the tour
exploring the amazing history of a town
which is home to the 4 century legend of
St Andrew and many a golfer's dream.
Day 4- Edinburgh
to Portstewart
An early morning
departure from Edinburgh (about 7.30) to
catch an early ferry to Belfast around arriving
around midday for a city tour, both the
political side, the wall murals which portray
its turbulent past and its castle overlooking
the city on Cave Hill. The beautiful Antrim
Glens & the spectacular Causeway Coast
including Murlough Bay & the Giant's
Causeway before our overnight stop in the
seaside town of Portstewart (Home town of
Jimeoin).We not only visit the Giants Causeway
but also the Antrim Glens and some of our
favourite off-the-beaten-track walks before
we spend the night in the lively Irish seaside
town of Port Stewart.
Day
5 - Portstewart
to Donegal
We head to
cliff edge Musendon Temple home of the Bishop
of Derry before heading to Derry its self
to have lunch and walk the walls of one
of Britain best preserved walled city. After
lunch, we cross the border into Donegal
in the republic of Ireland and, weather
permitting there is the opportunity to climb
Mount Errigal a dramatic quartz mountain
before our overnight stop in Donegal town.After

Day
6 - Donegal to Galway

We head south through county Sligo which
inspired the writing of WB Yeats and visit
a famine graveyard. Then it is on to Conemara
national park, the "Chocolate Box"
Kylemore Abbey and, depending on the mood
of the tour a gentle seaside walk to Clifden
Castle or follow in the footsteps of pilgrims
up the more strenuous Croagh Patrick where
St Patrick Banished all the snakes from
Ireland before reaching our home for the
next 2 nights in the party city of Galway.
Day 7 - Galway
and the Cliffs of Moher
We spend a day exploring Ireland's faboulous
west coast, the Cliffs of Moher, the moonscape
like Burren and the music town of Doolin.
Day 8 - Galway
to Dublin
We head inland through the town of Athenry
made famous in song, crossing Irleands
longest river, the Shannon at the ancient
convent at Clonmacnoise aiming to arrive
in Dublin around 3.00p.m in order to give
you chance to look round the city, Possibly
a visit to the Guinness brewery or the
book of Kells at Trinity College.
Day 9 - Dublin
to Edinburgh
You have the option to return directly to
Edinburgh via a stop at Monasterboice, home
if Ireland's largest Celtic Cross, or Jump
or leave the tour in Ireland and possibly
explore on your own or take advantage of
some of the discounts we can offer on other
activities in Ireland. The departure times
from Dublin will vary depending on which
return ferry we are catching to Scotland.
If you are not returning to Scotland you
can deduct the £10 cost of a return
ferry ticket from the cost of the tour.
Please note Tours may alter from
this itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances
such as road works, inclement weather conditions,
etc.
