Five unforgettable days - and the best value introduction
to Scotland's unique scenery, history and culture. The tour
leaves from Edinburgh and spends the first two nights on
the enchanting and magnificent Isle of Skye and the following
two nights in the 'Capital of the Highlands' - Inverness.
|
Day
One
Out on tour Day One: Lochs & Castles: Leaving Edinburgh,
we cross the medieval battlefields of Bannockburn and Stirling
bridge.
|

|
Then north into the breathtaking Highlands, to the territory
that was once Rob Roy MacGregor's, stopping at his grave.
Down to the shores of Loch Lomond and then across the Rannoch
Moor into the unforgettable Glen Coe. Up the west coast to
Fort William, through Glen Shiel, stopping at Eilean Donan
Castle, before heading over the sea to Skye.
Day
Two
Isle of Skye: Steeped in a rich and turbulent history, full
of romance and rebellion, the ancient Isle of Skye isn't
a place, its an intoxication. Our tour of the island takes
you through the overpowering beauty of the Cuillin Mountains,
the Quiraing, the Old Man of Storr and the enchanted Faerie
Glen. An experience of life affirming proportions is guaranteed.
|
Day
Three
The Northern Wilds: Leaving Skye, we head further north up
the west coast.
|

|
Through
the village of Plockton, into the
spectacular wilds of Wester Ross
and Torridon. Before heading down
into the Black Isle, MacBeth country,
and the 'Capital of the Highlands'
- Inverness.
Day
Four
Monster Spotting: We take a whole day to explore and enjoy
the dark and mysterious Loch Ness. Into Fort Augustus and
then on to Glen Affric and the last remnants of the ancient,
great Forest of Caledon. An optional extra on this day of
the tour is an afternoon spent at the Great Glen Water Park,
giving you the chance to do a whole range of activities -
anything from white water rafting to mountain biking.
Day
Five
We head southwards through the Grampian Mountains: Visiting
Culloden Battlefield, the 5,000 year old Clava Cairns, over
the Drumochter Pass, past the old ruined fort at Ruthven
and to the ancient cathedral town of Dunkeld (Fort of the
Celts), then arriving back in Edinburgh at the end of the
day.
Tours may alter from this itinerary due to unforeseen circumstances
such as road works, alternating weather conditions, etc.
