a Christmas to remember. Our tours stop for
Christmas day to party either on the Banks
of Loch Ness or in the fishing village of Kyleakin
on the Isle of Skye. We not only give you a
full day round the Isle of Skye but a night
on the banks Loch ness as well, to take in
some of Scotland's most spectacular scenery,
taking in short walks, local history and legends
galore from our Scottish guides.

Christmas in the Highlands Tour

Day
One Christmas Eve - with festive
spirit we depart Edinburgh at 8.30 a.m.
heading straight for the Highlands. Our
first stop
is a gentle walk through the beautiful
Hermitage Forest. From here we make our
way to the
Pass of Killiecrankie (where the Jacobites
fought the Government army - and won!),
then into the stunning Highlands in time
for lunch
before making our way for a historic
stop at the tragic Culloden battlefield
(Bonnie
Prince Charlie's last stand). After a
stop in Inverness for any last minute
Christmas
shopping we make our way to mysterious
Loch Ness &endash; our home for the next
two nights.
Day
Two Christmas Day! Imagine waking
up right beside the most famous body of
water in the world? Today we have a lovely
relaxing
day of festivity. Starting with a "champagne" breakfast
we will have a lazy morning followed by
a walk (swim!) at Loch ness and possibly
a
short drive around the local area. Then
it's a fantastic Christmas meal with lots
of fun
and games!
Day
Three Boxing Day who has got
the worst hangover? &endash; today we
head over to the mystical Isle of Skye!
We wind through
the beautiful Glens of Cluanie and Sheil
to get the fresh Christmas air into our
lungs. You'll stop to see the famous
Eilean Donan
(Highlander) Castle before crossing over
to the magical Isle to Kyleakin for Boxing
Day dinner and some live music.
Day
Four A full and active day today
around this wonderful Island with lots of
walking and searching for the many legends.
You'll stop at the magnificent Cuillin mountains,
the quaint town of Portree and then head
up into the Trotternish peninsula where you'll
discover the wonders of the Old Man of Storr,
Lealt Falls, the panoramic views of the stunning
Quiraing with folklore around every corner!!
After this great day it's back to the hostel
to chill out over a few drams.
Day
FiveWe now start to head southwards,
stopping in Glen Garry, Glen Nevis and Glencoe
for some gentle walks and some hairy coo
spotting before making our way over to the
Gateway of the Isles, Oban, to settle in
for our last night in the Highlands.

Six Back to Edinburgh today
making our way through the Trossachs
and down to
Stirling to hear of the great triumphs
of William Wallace and Robert the Bruce &endash;
and then its back to Edinburgh to prepare
for the biggest party in the world!
