Day 1 Saturday 23rd April
Check into hotel – Welcome meeting – City tour
Own arrangements to Istanbul. Check into your city centre hotel and be greeted by your rep. All rooms are twins, doubles or triples. Mid Afternoon meet your Turkish guide and fellow travelers; we will also go over in detail the itinerary and timings for the next four days of the tour, this briefing will be held in the hotel'
s bar/reception area. We then take you on an orientation tour of Istanbul and introduce you to some of the cities many sights. Included are the Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque and Underground Cistern. Leaving you the evening free to experience the city of Istanbul.
Day 2 Sunday 24th April
Istanbul to Gallipoli - Anzac Cove Tour
After an early breakfast we depart for Gallipoli, on arrival we take you on a tour to ANZAC Cove to learn of the fate of over 10,000 Australians and New Zealanders. We visit the memorial sites at ANZAC Cove, Shrapnel Valley, Conkbay Hill, Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair as well as the many cemeteries. We then tour the Kabatepe Museum and orientation centre.
Day 3 Monday 25th April
Gallipoli – Memorial Service– return Istanbul
This special day starts very early for the short transfer to the dawn service area, a packed breakfast and Lunch is provided. It is a good idea to bring sleeping bag and warm clothes as it can get very cold in the early hours. After the Dawn Service you are free to attend the Australian Memorial Service at Lone Pine and the New Zealand Memorial Service at Chunuk Bair. We then drive back to Istanbul, giving you time to reflect on the day. This is our last evening together and a great opportunity to go out and farewell new found friends.
Day 4 Tuesday 26th April
Check out of our hotel after breakfast. Before making your own onward transport arrangements or you can join us and experience the feeling of invigoration with a traditional Turkish bath, or take the chance to go on a last-minute shopping spree in Istanbul's famous Grand Bazaar. If you are staying on an extra night we can also arrange for you to go on the Bosporus cruise cost £10 in the afternoon, as well as the chance to go to a traditional Turkish belly dancing cabaret show with dinner and drinks cost £25.
