Where we go....

About the Meribel Valley
The Meribel Valley is the middle, central valley of the 3 vallees, making it the ideal base for exploring the whole domain! Encapsulating Brides la Bains at its base, Les Allues in the middle and of course Meribel itself.

Meribel alone has 9 Black runs, 21 red, 33 blue and 11 green, 2 designated snowboard areas (snowparks). Plus 2 Olympic runs and 1 slalom stadium. More impressive statistics include 16 gondola lifts, 18 chairlifts, 18 draglifts and 8 telebabies.
As one of the top resorts in Europe, Meribel has an extensive range of alternative activities to skiing and boarding if you have days when you fancy something different!

Meribel - Les - Allues
As the location for chalet Chez Albert, Les Allues is a small traditional and picturesque village at 1100m. Once a quiet hamlet, it is now a popular alternative to the main resort and maintains the true character of this beautiful alpine region.
Amongst the old stone buildings and rambling streets, visitors will now find a super market, ski rental shop and a choice of bars and restaurants.
The village is part of the world's largest ski area, Les Trois Vallees. Connected by a gondola lift from Brides Les Bains below to Méribel above.
Les Allues is the choice of many returning skiers. It is more chilled and more traditional than Méribel, but still provides a good variety of services and facilities.

Chalet Accommodation - sleeps 12 people
The Chalet has been built in a traditional style with modern interior and sits at the back of the small village of Les Allues. The chalet has lovely balcony views of the valley and with good snow fall you can ski back to the front door. The main pod lift to take you to the cente of Meribel is about a 5 min walk from the chalet.

3 shared bathrooms
The chalet is available from Sunday to Sunday and can be booked as a whole chalet. Ideal for small groups and independent travellers.

The interior is basic but comfortable, with nice alpine chalet features. Full central heating throughout and great views of the surrounding village and valley.

The kitchen / diner / social area is perfect for group interaction and relaxation. A TV / video with a selection of videos, Playstation, board games and music centre gives plenty of in-house entertainment.

Whats Extra.......

Despite the huge amount that The Backpacker Tour Co does organise, there are the usual expected extras which still need to be dealt with. However, our ski team are always available to help and will ensure that you are fully organised before you leave.

The main extras to consider are;

* Transport
The catered chalets option does not include transport to France

* Lift pass
This is organised on your arrival. Different passes are available depending on how much time you want to spend on the slopes.

* Ski lessons
Optional, £8-10 per hour. We can organise these for you on your arrival.

* Equipment hire
Basic ski package - £58 for 8 days. This is all organised on arrival unless you have your own gear.

* Clothing hire
£10 per item per week. If you do need to hire clothing such as jackets and salopettes etc Snowtrip have an in house selection available for hire

* Winters sports insurance
From £25. All travellers will need to have Winters Sports Travel Insurance.

* Lunches
Lunch is not included, however the chalet staff will make you a lovely half baguette roll for just 3 euros
